PALO ALTO, Calif. (December 28, 2000) - ClickAction Inc. (Nasdaq: CLAC)
a leader in permission-based email marketing/e-messaging technology and services,
announced today the expansion of its Midwest presence with new offices in
Chicago and Minneapolis. Steve Lett, former VP of Sales at RR Donnelley &
Sons Company, has been appointed Regional Vice President of Sales to lead
ClickAction's rapidly growing Midwestern team.
ClickAction provides email and e-messaging services to a growing list of industry
leading catalogers, publishers, retailers and advertising agencies within
the Central United States. The creation of the Chicago and Minneapolis offices
allows the Company to better service its growing list of Midwest based clients.
In May of 2000, ClickAction opened an East Coast office. Since its opening,
ClickAction has experienced exploding client and agency growth on the East
Coast.
To head the Chicago office, ClickAction has appointed Steve Lett as Regional
Vice President. Lett joins ClickAction after serving as president of PaperStudio,
Inc. and vice-president of RR Donnelley & Sons Company.
"Client support and service is critical in today's rapidly expanding
market for email and e-messaging technology and services,'' said Gregory Slayton,
president and CEO for ClickAction. "As the industry leader along many
different metrics, our decision to expand our Midwest presence reaffirms our
commitment to delivering the highest level of client support and service.
Our ability to recruit world class executives, like Steve Lett, also speaks
to our commitment to fielding the very best team we can for our clients and
shareholders.''
"As a Company, we look forward to the coming year and the on-going shake-out
in our industry. Now that an Internet company's success is measured by its
ability to profitably serve -- and expand -- its client base, as opposed to
its ability to convince venture capitalists and/or IPO investors to give it
more money, we believe that ClickAction will strengthen and grow its position
of industry leadership.''
